"Maitreya on Buddha Nature"
This is a verse by verse and chapter by chapter commentary
on the great mahayana classic the mahayana uttara tantra shastra, the main Buddhist
reference on the topic of 'buddha nature' (tathagatagarbha). It is the fruit
of over 20 years' research into this text, under the senior tutors of the Kagyu
tradition, and of a long experience of teaching it in intensive seminars. It
contains a revised version of the verses of Asanga's 'root' text, previously
translated by my wife and myself as the 'Changeless Nature'.

"Karmapa"
This is probably the most easily readable of my books, as
it was written for the general public rather than students of Buddhism. It is
the story of the discovery and installation of HH the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, who
is supreme head of the Kagyu Buddhist tradition, just as the Dalai Lama is,
to all intents and purposes, the head of the Gelugpa tradition. There are chapters
of background information on the Karmapas and their place in the history of
China and Tibet.
